SIDE FC 92 WOMEN'S JOINS UWS LEAGUE!

METUCHEN, NJ - Expansion news continues to build in United Women's Soccer (UWS) as a new organization has been added to the 2021 Southwest Conference lineup. Side FC 92 - the top level of the West Side Alliance Soccer Club (WSA) based in Tulsa, Oklahoma - will take on the likes of Batco FC, FC Austin Elite, Dallas International FC and the San Antonio Athenians this upcoming season. They will field two women's teams in UWS: a First Team and an official Reserve Team in League Two.

Side FC 92 will be the first-ever Oklahoma-based team in UWS history. Case Community RiverCity Parks in Sand Springs, OK will serve as the home facility. Founded in 1992, West Side Alliance SC is a leading competitive soccer club in Oklahoma and the region. Team headquarters are based in Tulsa with community club programs in the Greater Tulsa Metro area and Oklahoma City. Additional teams in the Southwest Conference will be announced in the coming weeks. Applications are still being accepted and reviewed for the upcoming 2021 campaign.

"We are excited to welcome Side FC 92 into UWS as we expand our Southwest Conference into the state of Oklahoma," said UWS Commissioner Joe Ferrara. Jr. "The aligning of philosophies between the two organizations makes this a great fit. Side FC 92 now continues its pathway to pro by adding a women's side to its development model."

"We are first grateful to UWS for this opportunity," said West Side Alliance Soccer Club Executive Director Roger Bush. "We are also enthused and energized to endeavor towards continuing the build of the women's game with like-minded and value-aligned partners. This is an exciting time for our membership. We are looking forward to the new relationships, opportunities and challenges on the horizon with UWS."

WSA began as a grassroots effort in 1992 in the small community of Sand Springs, OK and today supports over 2,000 players from infants through the semi-professional ranks. The club's mantra is "Side Before Self" which identifies its primary purpose and mission: "to serve." WSA supports a staff of over 150 coaches, many of which are alumni raised inside the club. The club spans facilities and "community clubs" in 11 different cities in the state of Oklahoma, across 300-plus acres of soccer field expanse. In 2017, the club formed a Pathway To Pro (P2P) Program, and two years later, Side FC 92 was launched.

The inaugural Head Coach of the women's UWS side will be Alex McLaurin. The WSA Senior Technical Director has a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "B" License. Famously, Alex netted the game winner for WSA '88 to claim the club's first-ever state championship, which has paved the way for countless other WSA teams.

Side FC 92 will host two trials for interested players in Tulsa: January 23-24, 2021 and March 27-28, 2021. Pre-registration is available via the WSA website. For more information on Side FC 92, visit their official website at sidefc92.com and follow them on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
